Tee Knitter originated as an installation for a major design festival, we hosted workshops to introduce ideas of upcycling and the growing crisis of global garment waste. The public response was overwhelming. We then transitioned Tee Knitter to a handy toolkit, the hardware was re-engineered into a modular, foldable structure, allowing us to conduct mobile workshops, while enabling public to store the compact tool at home. The redesigned system enable beginners to weave surplus garments into daily soft goods without any training. It transforms the abstract concept of circular economy into a tactile, joyful, and daily practice. Through ongoing network of workshops, our ultimate vision is to cultivate mindful consumerism and reduce waste.
